Our Story

It all began in a shed. My husband and his friends laid down linoleum in an old shed to practice breakdancing. My friends knew I was into breakin and they brought me to the shed to meet some breakers that had recently moved here to Utah. We spent a lot of time practicing and competing in battles all over Utah & California. I ended up marrying one of those breakdancers nearly ten years later. We love the breakin culture and recognized that it was impacting how we taught and mentored our own children. Breakin is one of the four pillars within Hip Hop Culture. We wanted to educate people on the positivity that can be drawn from it and began teaching kids in the basement of our home, but soon had to find a studio to accommodate the demand.

Hip Hop incorporates all types of music and dance to create the Hip Hop art form and we draw from all types of dance styles here at Breakin Circles. To enhance the experience, our studio offers a broad range of classes: Breakdance, Jazz, Hip Hop, Tricking, Tumbling, Cheer, Contemporary. All classes are taught by teachers/coaches that believe in the Breakin Circles mantra of break fears and building confidence. They focus on positivity and love; using class time to build up the students and help them succeed.

Break Fears

Our approach aims to help students remove fear. Check out our students struttin their stuff on the streets of downtown Provo

Build Confidence

We strive to build confidence. Our peeps bring their talents to our Battle Nights and Performances. Check out our dope all girl breakin crew. They held their ground against our much older and experienced boys squad. Who won? You tell us...

In breakdancing, a circle is formed so that b-girls and b-boys can showcase their moves. They are provided a safe space to express themselves through dance. Other breakers respect the circle and allow friends and foes to express freely. It’s unique, but foundational to the art form.

This philosophy governs our studio. Inside the circle there is no room for discrimination or hate. We are all love, we are all support, we are the BC Family.
